Golden Plains Insurance is proud to present Alison Reye Wilson with their annual educational scholarship.

Alison was selected by adhering to our guidelines for a scholarship application which included submitting an official high School transcript (which shows she had a 3.98 GPA), along with three letters of recommendation from an instructor, counselor, or coach. Her attached letters were glowing examples of her commitment to family, school, church and country. In addition, she needed to provide an autobiographical statement of why she would be a good candidate for the scholarship and what her educational long-term career goals were. Her included letter was very impressive, and she covered all the requirements with exceptional clarity and detail.

Alison grew up on her family’s ranch in southeast Colorado near Pritchett. She has been an exemplary student in the Pritchett School system from kindergarten. She has been active in the National Honor Society, Student Council, FFA, 4-H, Friends of Rachel Club, on the Year Book staff and she was a very active participant in the school sports program including basketball, volleyball and with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Along with all her school participation, she also served her church which includes teaching Sunday School, serving dinners and helping with the annual Vacation Bible School. Alison also helped with numerous community service activities through 4-H and FFA by helping serve meals, carving pumpkins for the elders, cleaning the cemetery and helping with food drives.

Upon graduation Alison plans to attend college at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS where she plans to major in Agricultural Business with an emphasis on Ag Marketing. As she confronts the future she has a clear path in mind as she stated in her bio, “My goal is that when I come back to my family’s ranch in southeast Colorado I’ll be able to market our products in a way that will help us receive full credit for our work, while also continually learning how to raise the highest and best quality cattle.” We wish her the absolute best in her journey and are grateful to be a part of it.
