As a fifth generation Baca County resident, Shelly grew up rooted in the rich heritage of her family's land.  Moving with her family to the front range of Colorado, Shelly completed her high school years.  She studied Business and Business Law at a Denver college. Shelly married her classmate Mike Stafford from Campo, CO, together they raised three daughters and have welcomed numerous grandchildren.

Their journey led them beyond the Baca County borders when they became partners in a grain elevator business in the Oklahoma Panhandle.  Both Shelly and Mike dedicated several years working in that business gaining valuable experience.  However, the call of home eventually beckoned prompting their return to Colorado. Upon their return Shelly ventured into the world of insurance, owning, and operating an agency in northeastern Colorado for over three decades.

Retirement from the insurance industry did not quite suit her so she sought a new opportunity.   She found herself drawn to Golden Plains Insurance Agency in Springfield and eagerly took on a new role.  Shelly's aim is to continue serving her community, leveraging her expertise to assist Baca County residents with their insurance needs for years to come.
